Allcargo logistics ltd, wanted to revive the burnt down structure of Avashya House located at Kalina Mumbai. The design brief also clearly spelt facade refurbishment in-tune with the current trends for this stilt + 6 storey building, compliant to LEED rating guidelines. The curvilinear building was enveloped in a glass facade with the use of convex and concave glass. Extruded aluminum section fins were introduced into the facade to break the monotony and to act as a sun shading device.
Allcargo facade is a perfect study of how an old and insignificant structure can be transformed discerningly through its skin, without disturbing the existing core to achieve a refreshing look, dominating its locale, through its design.
